Right from the start I felt that there was something not right about the Madelein McCann case, But as the years went by as a mum I sympathised with the parents plight. Then in 2013 when there was a lot of publicity re Crime watch, I thought I'd take a quick look online and see what I could find out. Fortunately I had a lot of time on my hands then as I discovered the McCann files and spent the next 3 weeks reading for hours at a time! They were a revelation. Through all the lies, inconsistencies, dodgy dealings, evidence ignored by the mum there has been one shining beacon - an honest decent police officer doing his job as well as he could in extremely difficult circumstances. I am putting my money where my mouth is. People tell you who they are if you take the time to listen carefully. The mccanns have told me the truth about Maddie, they have told the world the truth. They didn't realise at the time and they still don't realise it now. They have told me they are users and abusers. They have used lawyers and the media to stifle any investigation, any discussion, any questioning of their version of events. This is why we are here today. They fear the truth being known as there will be consequences. The consequences they face now will be worse than if they had told the truth at the beginning They have abused the innocence of their children by telling them a fairy story about a non existent stranger boogeyman and they have abused the goodwill of the public who bought into their deception at the start, believing in a faked abduction of a little 3 yr old girl. Today, there are still those, a tiny minority who, for reasons known only to themselves, still buy into that self same deception. Innocent parents behave and act in a certain way. Guilty parents behave and act in a certain way. The two are mutually exclusive. We the public have become the parents, the carers, the voice to a little girl betrayed by her own parents. We are the family she didn't know she had and never knew she would need. We are the voice of a silent little girl with no voice of her own. British police helped to "develop evidence" against Madeleine McCann's parents as they were investigated by Portuguese police as formal suspects in the disappearance of their daughter, the US ambassador to Portugal was told by his British counterpart in September 2007. The meeting between US ambassador Al Hoffman and the British ambassador, Alexander Wykeham Ellis, took place a fortnight after Kate and Gerry McCann were formally declared arguidos, or suspects, by Portuguese police. The McCanns have said that there was "absolutely no evidence to implicate them in Madeleine's disappearance whatsoever." In a diplomatic cable marked confidential, the US ambassador reported: "Without delving into the details of the case, Ellis admitted that the British police had developed the current evidence against the McCann parents, and he stressed that authorities from both countries were working co-operatively." The comments attributed to the ambassador appear to contradict the widespread perception at the time that Portuguese investigators were the driving force behind the treatment of the McCanns as suspects in the case. The disclosure comes as WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange returns to court in an attempt to secure bail following his arrest last week at the request of Swedish authorities who want to interview him over allegations of sexual assault. A number of other cables released by the whistleblowers' website shed new light on aspects of the financial crisis. Revelations include:• RBS chairman Sir Philip Hampton said the board of the bank breached their "fiduciary responsibilities" by allowing the takeover of the Dutch bank ABN Amro.• The Bank of England governor, Mervyn King, was so worried about the health of the banks that he proposed a secret international fund to recapitalise them six months before the collapse of Lehman Brothers.• US officials expressed doubts in October 2008 over whether Ireland appreciated how much trouble its banks were in. In one of two cables referring to the McCann case, the US ambassador notes: "Madeleine McCann's disappearance in the south of Portugal in May 2007 has generated international media attention with controversy surrounding the Portuguese-led police investigation and the actions of Madeleine's parents." He reported that his British counterpart thought "that the media frenzy was to be expected and was acceptable as long as government officials keep their comments behind closed doors". It was not until 21 July 2008 that the Portuguese authorities shelved their investigation and lifted the arguido status of the McCanns. Responding to the contents of the cable, a spokesman for the McCanns told the Guardian: "This is an entirely historic note that is more than three years old. Subsequently, Kate and Gerry had their arguido status lifted, with the Portuguese authorities making it perfectly clear that there was absolutely no evidence to implicate them in Madeleine's disappearance whatsoever. "To this day, they continue to work tirelessly on the search for their daughter, co-operating when appropriate with both the Portuguese and British authorities." British authorities had substantial involvement in the investigation launched after Madeleine disappeared in May 2007 from the holiday apartment where the McCanns had left their three children in bed before joining friends at a nearby restaurant in the Algarve village of Praia da Luz. At least one British sniffer dog was used in the investigation and, according to reports, was said to have picked up the scent of a dead body in the apartment. In 2008, when a dossier detailing investigations by Portuguese police was made public, it emerged British scientists had warned that DNA tests on a sample from the McCanns' holiday hire car were inconclusive days before they were made suspects. It is known that the Forensic Science Service analysed material sent to Britain by Portuguese police. A spokesman for Leicestershire police said their involvement in the investigation was limited to co-ordinating UK-based inquiries on behalf of the Portuguese authorities

I am from Austria and I was pregnant when Maddie "disappeared" - therefore I am highly sensitive for disappearing children. Since then I follow cases like these. Just in Germany, one week ago, a 5 year old child called Inga Gehricke disappeared. It is terrible and I feel with the parents. Only in the Maddie case I truely believe she is not findable anymore. Not because of the book of Goncalo Amaral that I never came to read but of the case files, which are on a public domain in the internet. I really hope that other children wil be found, like Inga or William Tyrell in Australia wo disappeared months ago without a trace. I think it is horrible that Mr. Amaral has to pay such a high amount of money just due to the fact that he used the information he had to publish a book about the story of Madeleine, which is also a part of his own story now. I already donated 30,- pound and donate again 20,- pound for his appeal - may the high court lower his fine, hopefully to zero. I think he was on the right way when he told his version of the story. I hope all children (Inga Gehricke, Ben Needham, William Tyrell and others) can be found one day. Sadly I think Madeleine had another fortune.

Being a victim of sexual assualt as a child and it having a serious effect on my adult life up until now, the parents were cruel and uncaring to leave their babies alone, yet being doctors would have know about the serious consequences of leaving them! Why were they not brought to justice? They toatlly failed her and the other children, yet they seem NOT to accept the impact of their actions on that night, a lower class family would have been arrested and have their children taken away, let's bring in the McCann Law which allows you to have a meal out and get drunk with your friends and leave your children alone, as long as they have been bathed and had a fun day!!!

And all for disclosing what he believed,what the majority now believe,that Madeleine met her demise in Portugal. It has become the belief of more and more people across the globe that her parents are in some way,responsible for her demise and know a lot more than they are letting on. And after all the changing statements and lies, after the evidence of the blood and cadaver dogs (LORRAINE KELLY carefully never once asked them about the dogs on all those annual sofa chats) the world has reached its own disturbing conclusions. That is because the world has spent considerably longer than Kennedy’s “couple of minutes” on examining actual evidence. The only difference is, THE LITTLE PEOPLE are up against it.
They do not have big bank accounts. They do not wield social and political influence. So to be labelled “trolls” is the absolute end. Brenda Leyland died labelled "a vile troll" following MARTIN BRUNT’S shameful behaviour on SKY rolling news; died for pointing out what we are here pointing out. Gutter hack, CAROLE MALONE’S astonishing attack on Ms Leyland may have been the last thing that poor woman ever read, and what her beloved son had to read of his mother posthumously: - “A TWISTED FECKED UP BITCH”. Unbelievably, this is what that dreadful person wrote of a woman she’d never met and whom she had not bothered to research. She merely repeated glib lies.
She eagerly took the poisoned baton handed on by BRUNT, GAMBLE, SUMMERS & SWAN amongst others who are shielding the McCanns and turning Truth on its head. I can still scarcely believe Malone’s language appeared in a British mainstream newspaper – let’s hope Sixth form debating societies didn’t clap eyes on it. It seems that WE, the people, are left to do the decent thing and help this beleaguered man, caught between an astounding miscarriage of justice in Portugal and disgusting vilification in the UK media. And by God, by the time we are finished we will ensure that this brave man, Goncalo, is the last man standing. I am giving as I can manage, being a pensioner.So, come on millionaires, which one of you has a conscience? Which one of YOU has a disturbing thought about what is happening to our country? It's ironic that the case against him is on behalf of THREE children, meaning basically that Madeleine is sueing the only person who helped her. Information has a way of disappearing but while it's still available a search for CATS 19309 makes interesting reading. God bless dr. Amaral. Please look after your health and keep safe.

Since the article in the Sun, I have read the CMOMM forum and read much of the case files. I simply can't believe what has been hidden from us for so long. I was so trusting and naive, I simply cannot believe the amount of evidence - the dogs, the 48 questions, the crazy Tapas 9 stories, the entering through front door - then the back door - I could go on but won't bother. What is going on with UK/Portuges establishments and the MSM ? What is being covered up? I am truly shocked and speachless and will be donating this monthly amount until Amaral gets his 25k. These are the reasons for my donation to this fund today: On 14 October 2010 the Appellate Court in Lisbon overturned a previous ban on Dr. Gonçalo Amaral's book, "Maddie - A Verdade da Mentira" (The Truth of the Lie), deeming the book to be factual - based on the 2007 investigation into the disappearance of Madeleine McCann - and therefore non-libellous, and that Dr Amaral was entitled to express his opinion. Kate and Gerry McCann quickly appealed against this decision, but their appeal was rejected outright by the Supreme Court on 18 March 2011. A final judgement was made in recent weeks in the civil court case, McCann vs Aamaral, in which the McCanns are attempting to claim damages from Dr Amaral to the tune of £1 million. The judgement rejected all claims for damages on behalf of the three McCann children, and only partially upheld just one aspect of the parents' claims - that the publication of the book had caused them "distress", in spite of it being based of factual information otherwise in the public domain in the form of the official police (PJ) files. All other claims were rejected. In particular the judgement ruled that the publication of the book had not harmed the search for Madeleine. Additionally, the judgement has flown in the face of the 2011 Supreme Court's ruling by once again banning Amaral's book - a seemingly extraordinary decision, in my opinion. The McCanns were awarded a very large sum of money - approximately half a million pounds - to compensate for their "distress". They were reported in the press to be "delighted" at this judgement and have publicly stated: "We want to emphasise that the action was never about money. It has always been focused on the effects of the libels on our other children and the damage that was done to the search for Madeleine." This is in the face of the court ruling that no harm has come to the search for Madeleine, and that no claims for damages for the three children were upheld, and in the face of choosing to claim £1 million damages. Gonçalo Amaral has a right to appeal this decision and has indicated he will do so. The McCanns have at their disposal the money invested in their private limited company, Madeleine's Fund - money that has been largely donated by the public for the purpose of searching for Madeleine - to pay for their own legal costs should they wish to do so. However, for Amaral, with half his pension and all his assets frozen by the courts for five years as a result of the McCanns bringing this law suit, paying for a lawyer to pursue this appeal himself is nigh on impossible. He needs our help to ensure that justice is finally served in this matter. The best of British luck to you, Gonçalo!

Sr Amaral in the last 5 years has been living in poverty with his assets frozen trying to pay many many thousands of pounds of legal fees to defend himself against a damages claim of 1 million pounds for telling the truth about the findings of the investigation that there was no abduction, no neglect likely that someone stayed behind each night as babysitter but the parents fabricated a timeline of checking on the children as they were on their own to sustain the theory of abduction. Now it has been ruled that he has damaged the parents reputation by writing a book about the facts and has to pay half a million in compensation to the McCanns plus hundreds of thousands in legal fees. He doesn't have a multi million pound company paid for by public donations to fund it nor Millionaire backers to help him in his ordeal like the McCann's have had so we in our own small way are trying to help as we know he is worth it. Let us pray that those children who don't have enough food for tea through no fault of their own that someone or something will help them, and that maybe a multi millionaire will anonymously help Mr Amaral out of his plight as they have helped the family that the Portugese police worked so hard for of the child this was all about.

If those 3 little children hadn't been left unattended, in an unlocked apartment, whilst their parents went out for a night of eating and drinking, then this poor man would still have his job, his marriage, his home and his pension. It is disgusting that the unlawful acts of others (by this I mean the failure to properly supervise the children) can destroy the life of a totally innocent person in his own country. I am ashamed to be British in this case - what right does anyone have to cause so much misery and loss upon a man who was only investigating a crime as part of his job, when it was their actions that created the entire situation. He didn't cause Madeline's disappearance, neither did he cover it up or fail to investigate it. He did nothing wrong. Until this case is solved, nobody should be accused of libel, as nobody (except those responsible for Madeline's disappearance) actually knows what happened.

Truth and justice - an excellent mantra to live by. Everything I have read and seen regarding Dr Goncalo Amaral show him to be an honourable man. I can't say the same for the McCanns. British MSM is below contempt and always has been. Thousands of people have donated millions of pounds in the misheld belief that it was ALL going to be used to help to find a missing little girl (or be donated to other worthy children's charities) and NOT to personally attack those individuals who questioned the McCanns' version of events. It was not intended to be a prosecution/protection fund. The only people who suggested an abduction were the parents and their friends despite evidence to the contrary and yet still now they are spending millions of public donations to pay Lawyers and PR to feed the MSM with their own theory, to maintain it high profile in the media as a way of brainwashing decent members of the general public, who sadly believe that as they have heard it in so many newspapers so often it must be true. People are waking up and smelling the coffee over Hillsborough and how those victims were treated so badly by the press and the misinformation they feed people. Don't sit back and take all the misinformation that has perpetuated for 8 years to enable innocent people like Sr Amaral to be destroyed by false accusations being made about him, his assets, his pension being frozen. The McCanns say it was never about the money, well if it wasn't instead of sueing him for a million pounds in a civil damages trial they could have taken it to a criminal libel trial, but then of course it was proved he hadn't been lying he told the truth, he didn't do any harm to Madeleine and the twins or the investigation, the judge decided to make Sr Amaral pay 500,000 euros to the McCanns for hurt feelings of their good name and reputation. He only told the truth and yet McCanns and their supporters have told an awful lot of lies about him and his family as have MSM, imagine how his children must feel about that, imagine how they must feel that their family home on a respectable middle class area is boarded up as he is not allowed to do anything with it as the court seized it as an asset under the instructions of the McCanns legal team, when the court said they couldn't at first as half belonged to his wife, the Ambassador for missing children told them, well tell him to get divorced I want his house. Mr Amaral worked for 30 years as a detective and was well respected despite confabulated charges brought against him which the person who made them has admitted they were false, the punishment he received has yet to be rescinded. Sadly he has had to put all of his energy in defending himself against a million pound damages trial and has not yet had the resources to be able to defend his good name on other accusations , false claims about his ability as a Policeman that had only ever been suggested since May 2007. So UK citizens with people who fought hard to give us a right to vote and a right to free speech.STAND UP AND BE COUNTED

I have never commented on line about this case and my conclusions about the McCanns did not come about because of mr Amaral's book but because of the attitude and actions of they themselves. If I am wrong then I feel heart sorry for this couple but really they only have themselves to blame! They should have concentrated on being less on suing people and let the truth stand for itself! Many things keep me awake about this case. Here are just a couple: A series of Rogatory interviews of the Tapas 7 were conducted on behalf of the Portuguese police by Leicester police at Leicester Police HQ in April 2008. Transcripts can be found online at McCann files. I have never seen police procedures like this before! I have also long been curious as to the Spanish TV interview where Gerry McCann responded to a question about the dogs' evidence by removing his microphone and making to leave the studio. Their spokesperson, off camera, cajoled him to sit down, telling him "Stick to the official line, Gerry". Now what official line would that be?

When Madeline first went missing I felt so sorry for the parents as I believed they had made a terrible mistake and were suffering heavily as a result. But like many people once I read the police files, watched the McCann and cadaver dog video clips which were shocking and read detailed evidence based blogs like Textusa it is impossible to believe the McCann version of events. Nobody likes to think someone could do this and deceive so many people for so long. It almost sounds impossible but all the evidence would indicate otherwise and is really chilling. Even if this fund doesn't help that much financially it will I hope raise the profile of the injustice of what has happened and challenge people's perceptions of a man who was just doing his job, wanted justice for a child and for the truth to be known. Roll on the appeal!

I was in Praia Da Luz 2 weeks after the disappearance of Madeleine. There were posters all over the town asking for information. I was staying in a hotel about 2 minutes’ walk from The Ocean Club, so I made a point of visiting the club so that I could understand for myself where Apartment 5a was, and how far it was from the Tapas Club. As a father of 3 children, I would never leave my children out of sight or earshot. Knowing the geography of the complex, I can categorically say that having a rota/shift for adults to monitor children whilst young children slept in an unsupervised apartment amounts to serious negligence. As time went on, I started to take more interest in the story and everything related to the parents and their behaviour. Right from the outset, I wasn’t at all comfortable with how they both courted the limelight and attention. Had they complied with all requests for information, I would have had no reason to doubt their version of events. The fact that there is not a shred of evidence that an abduction took place in 5a, leaves many more questions unanswered. The man charged with finding the answers to the many many questions was Goncalo Amaral, a man who has suffered a terrible twist in his life journey, by having this case thrown upon him. I am sure, that if he could turn back the clock, and choose to have this event not happen to him personally, he would choose that option in a heartbeat. He didn’t / doesn’t have that option and he has resolutely and passionately defended his beliefs and opinion on what did happen. I have one wish and one wish only: for the truth to come out, and for those responsible to be held to account, whoever they may be, wherever they are and however heavy the guilt/burden is on their conscience

I have met Goncalo through work when he was in Portimao a year before Madeline went missing. He treated my colleague and I to a meal the first night we arrived there and was always asking if his officers were assisting us properly in our enquiries which they were. I found the Police in Portimao extremely professional and thorough and IT was as a result of Goncalo and his officers that our enquiries were 100% successful. Good luck if you read this Goncalo as I once said to you that "we are the biggest gang in the World"

My taxes are used towards a UK police investigation trying to find out who abducted Maddie. As far as I am aware no evidence of an abduction has been found ... at all. I work, so I have to pay tax, but I choose to donate to Dr Amaral's legal defence, because I believe in the right to freedom of speech. Dr Amaral looked for Maddie and investigated the evidence, but her parents refused to co-operate and answer questions or take part in a reconstruction. If they did answer questions in the media, these stories have altered over time. I don't hate the McCann's, but I don't understand why they left their young kids alone, or their subsequent behaviour. Dr Amaral was just doing his job, and reached what for many people appears to be a logical theory about this sad case.
