I had meant to post a comment but mistakenly clicked to hide the comment. So my mistake is the funds gain as now I'll donate another small amount. I thought long and hard about making a donation and of my reasons for doing so. It had actually nothing to do with the known facts, the conclusions in the archiving report, or the many assumptions of the case. Furthermore, if someone decides to take another person to court then we should accept without prejudice, that's their rightful prerogative. However, my sense of what you might call Britishness, has a strong sense of fair play and when one side has limited legal and restricted financial resources and the other, the might of one of the most esteemed legal practices in the country, a large fund from which to draw and no known personal financial risks, then I start to do what many British people do, I find myself leaning towards the underdog, for no other reason, than they are so. There's no guarantee a different judge will conclude any differently from the last, but perhaps this small donation ( and my previous one) will go a little way to providing a more level playing field

A small token donation from one public servant to another. The evidence (publicly released) points in only one direction. What has followed: The Madeleine Fund paying a mortgage, non cooperation with the original investigation, and the PR spinning of an ongoing MPS investigation by Clarence Thomas (paid for by the donations of the British public who would be shocked if they knew the full scale of how their money has been used) is utterly distasteful. GA should never have written that book. That is my view. But the McCanns are systematic in their attempts to silence logical conclusions when it comes to this case. I first learned the truth when I was looking for info on Kate's book. Before buying I always read customers' comments on Amazon and after reading the negative reviews I followed the advice given and read Amaral's book instead. Among the reviews I particularly like one on the fourth page of the one star reviews pages under the headline "Pure Fiction" that so well summarizes all the lies and deceit in a nutshell and I really recommend reading it. Mac's fans tried to get Amazon to ban that one. Best of luck dr. Amaral, the world needs people like you.

So many children for decades have been abused by those in high places and it has all been covered up and files lost. I've followed this case since day one. I've read the PJ files and I've seen how this case has been reported by the UK press/media. There was no evidence at all that the windows were 'jemmied' and no evidence of an abductor. Changing statements...first the door was locked...and then the kids were left alone in an unlocked apartment whilst the parents wined and dined some distance away across a swimming pool. A nine month old baby suffering from a intestinal infection left alone by its medically trained parents and checked half hourly! Are we to believe this? Are we to believe the sycophantic press reports about the darling parents of an almost three year old who disappeared into thin air? Portugal is not a third world country and yet the UK press went to great lengths to portray its police as incompetent, when that was far from the truth. At the heart of this case is a little girl, not quite four years old, who apparently disappeared without trace when her parents were not there to protect her and her younger siblings. Dr Goncalo Amaral was in charge of the investigation and was doing his job against enormous odds it seems. To round up the figure here is my second donation to help with Dr Amaral's appeal fund. What happened to honest journalism in the UK?

I read something the other day that said "I would rather walk with the broken than sit with the great", although in this case I personally think "the great" are deluded, legends in their own lunchtime, propped up by what they think is "power" & their chums. The McCanns have always had the cooperation of the media when asking the public to donate to their Fund, it's been like that since their Fund was set up. Their declared aim was to use the money in the search for Madeleine, though I seem to remember someone mentioning a 'fighting fund' so am a bit confused about that. However, this fund to help Gonçalo Amaral won't get any help from the British media who so clearly don't want him to be able to employ a lawyer, so is only known by sharing on social media, forums, etc. Maybe some well-off person with a conscience and a sense of fair play will find their way here and donate, but if they don't I'm sure the rest of us will continue to give what we can. To deliberately deny someone legal representation in a court case goes against everything that the word 'justice' stands for, to freeze one person's assets for 6 years while the other party is allowed to keep THEIR money and continue to add to it so that they can employ the best lawyers, shows injustice of the worst kind.

Just a small amount to help, it's difficult to compete with a fund that's had 4 million pounds of public donations, to make a company that can be lenders, set up courses and buy property as an investment with donations that could well be worth 40 million pounds by now if it was invested properly, there's no reason to suggest it wouldn't have been as the McCann's have the top lawyers and advisers around the world that public money can buy. It is with that money that people gave so willingly for the plight of a little girl missing, little did any of us realise that the money we gave would be used on disreputable Private Detectives, with no experience of missing children, which of course was probably the reasoning at the outset, if you don't know what you're looking for and don't find it you're none the wiser, whereas if you were well qualified and knew what you were looking for and didn't find it , you would know why you didn't find it. Then huge amounts have been spent on sueing people like Mr Amaral. Ordinary people who have no chance of competing with the McCann's being able to spend many hundreds of thousands of pounds of people's donations on the very best lawyers to ensure they would beat the little man's lawyer as they have done to destroy him and others. So come on, the playing field needs to be levelled up or this is going to go on for decades. There must be many kind hearted wealthy businessmen, celebrities, entrepreneurs, even lottery winners who can feel it in their heart the injustice of it . Even 30 people donating £10,000 a piece would give this man a chance to get his life back and prove to the world that charitable donations given to one couple should not be used as a business venture to grow like a cancer that makes decent people reluctant to give to funds again as they can see with the McCann's one how it has been used so badly. Children with cancer, children with disabilities, chidren who are abused, fund raising for them must have been affected by the McCann's use of the so called fund. So come on you wealthy people PLEASE try and restore some human faith in people.

The whole party allege they left their children night after night in the apartments. Most were in cots. But two were in beds & therefore free to exit the apartment. Except the Tanners deadlocked their main front door having an older child. But the McCanns on the other hand left three children for four nights, in an unlocked, ground floor apartment on a street corner. Madeleine was known (apparently) to bed hop in the night. So, there you have it the McCann'schildren, left home alone for four nights, with ad hoc frequent checking. Flags up that one of the children was known to cry for over an hour on the Tuesday night. Madeleine 'disappeared' on the Thursday. Much can be said about this saga, but above is FACT. Fudged over WITHIN THE BOUNDS OF RESPONSIBLE PARENTING. Then I'm pretty glad I am not one of them, neither is anyone I know.

We live in Australia and have read Newspaper reports and other material regarding this matter from the beginning. I have wondered what the very first telephone call made by Gerry McCann to Gordon Brown would have sounded like? A cry for help? Would their have been desperation for his wife, himself and his Doctor friends on the Medical Board of the UK Government? How would look they appear in Court if their activities were brought into the light? Surely their behaviour and activities would fill MSM for weeks. It seems to me that there has been a top level cover up in this case which includes the participation of the British Government funded by the British tax payer apparently to the tune of ten million. I can't really afford this but felt impelled to contribute again after seeing Kerry Needham on TV this morning. The contrast between her and the McCanns is huge! The animation in her face at the prospect of finding Ben after such an ordeal all these years. I so hope she isn't disappointed again! She has got this far without all the suport of the government and has not run around suing all and sundry. The truth always surfaces eventually. Mr Amaral never damaged the search for Maddie. I felt his book was very fair and he was fair and respectful of the McCanns and concluded by saying that the case needed more investigation. I do sometimes have little doubts, what if my thoughts are wrong and they are innocent, how awful to have all the negative opinion on top!!!! Then I go back and watch their interviews and THEY convince me that something is sadly wrong!!!!! The tale of Madeliene asking " where were you when Shaun and I were crying"is so far fetched!!! If it was true, how could they go out again and leave them???? The coloboma which changed toturned in to a fleck! Why would Gerry leave the children if he sensed someone in the room???? The company set up and all the suing!!!! They are still at it, suing a TV presenter and another person!!!! I would have much more sympathy if they had quietly got on with a real search and not chased the money!!! So I take my hat off to you Mr Amaral and will continue to contribute to until justice is done!!!!

I am an old age pensioner paying tax to the British Government. That government has spent millions upon millions of pounds on a continuing investigation by numerous British police officers into the alleged abduction of the McCann’s little daughter - who could not have been abducted if her parents had not left their very young children to their own devices in an unlocked ground floor holiday apartment. That investigation, as far as I know, is no closer to finding the alleged abductor than it was at the very start. I wish that my hard-earned taxes had been put to somewhat better use by providing some much needed respite care for all the conscientious and loyal parents who devote all their time to caring for their permanently sick or disabled children morning, noon, and night, day in and day out, year after year.

I am in no doubt whatsoever that if the evidence was presented in a Portuguese court of law, there would be enough conclusive material to suggest that the people attacking Goncalo Amaral would have an awful lot to worry about, rather than worrying him incessantly with threats, litigation and generally wrecking his life. Let us not forget that this man's job (and his right to have freedom of speech) was to seek the truth as to what happened to Madeleine McCann. Another small donation from myself. This case troubles me deeply. The people who, themselves, claim to have left 3 very young children alone, night after night, in an unlocked apartment next to a road and very close to a swimming pool, whilst they ate and drank for hours, out of sight and hearing of their children ..... still have their home, their job(s) and exactly the same lifestyle as they did before they child disappeared on their watch. However, the man who did his job, broke no laws, and was drawn into this situation by the actions of others, is the one who is homeless, jobless, penniless and without his family. Where is the justice in that? What about his hurt feelings? What about his career? What about his frozen assets and pension that he worked his entire life for? It is a simple fact that (if the truth is being told about that night) had the parents stayed in their apartment that night and looked after their children, that little girl would still be here. I don't understand why anyone else should be suffering for their actions. I'm so glad to see some many people supporting Mr Amaral and not believing the lies spread about him. If caring about a person's life, health and justice makes one a troll, then so be it

This is my third weekly donation that I will continue to make. Everything about this case has shocked me. At first it was simply the fact that two parents could willingly leave their three young children alone in an apartment in a foreign country while you went out drinking and still claim to be responsible parents. Now I don't believe you ever left them alone but you had to say that to allow for the abduction story. All the evidence is out there for everyone to read. The shutters that were never forced open. The constant changes to your statements to try and fit the evidence. The fact that your first actions were to create a timeline and call sky news rather than search for your own daughter. The fact that you refused to cooperate with the police. The fact you so easily dismissed the cadaver and blood dogs and never seemed concerned about why they alerted in your apartment and what that could have meant. The fact that you refused to answer those 48 questions when you knew it would help. The fact you left Portugal when you said you would never leave until you had Madeleine back. The fact that you refused to return for a reconstruction when you knew it would help. The fact you have spent 8 years trying to silence and control anyone who questions this case. The fact you have tried so very hard to destroy the one person who did everything he could to find Madeleine. I have today been advised that all funds raised via this site will go direct to the PJGA fund for Dr Amaral's legal expenses and am pleased to make a modest contribution for these reasons: 1. It is intolerable that anyone accused of libel should have to wait nearly 6 years from the date of service of a writ (June 2009 in this case) for a verdict 2. The verdict by the Lisbon court last month was perverse. Both the Portuguese Appeal Court (October 2010) and the Portuguese Supreme Court (March 2011) held that Dr Amaral's book was a legitimate use of his right to freedom of expression, under Article 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights, and as a result they allowed his book to be sold, overturning an earlier ban. The Lisbon court should have followed their decisions 3. Dr Amaral has good prospects for success in his appeal, given the previous Appeal & Supreme Court decisions 4. 99% of his book is based on information in the files of the Portuguese Police which in any event has already been in the public domain since July 2008, and all of which can conveniently be accessed via the mccannpjfiles website 5. The McCanns have been able to afford the best lawyers that money can buy to pursue various defensive and offensive legal actions. By contrast, Dr Amaral has had substantial proportions of his captal and income impounded by the state. I hope that the money raised by this appeal will enable him to afford a good quality and influential lawyer

The legal system has enabled the McCanns to render Amaral destitute & unable to defend himself. They've had his assets frozen for six years, including a third of his police pension for which he worked 26 years. Even the way the court verdict was announced was as dodgy as hell. The fact the verdict was given to the McCanns and not to Amaral or his lawyer, indicates that as usual strings were pulled behind the scenes to benefit the McCanns. They knew the judge had ruled the book truthful and the search not damaged by it, and nor were their other children, but the delay in informing Amaral enabled them to cherry pick the judge's ruling to get good PR and of course the media seems to publish whatever the McCanns tell them to. The McCanns delightedly claimed, as if upheld by the judge, that their reason for raiding Maddie's fund to sue Amaral, was always about the harm the 'libels' caused to the search and to the twins, definitely not money, but it wasn't a libel trial (they could not have won a libel trial), it was a damages trial and they won £500k for hurt feelings caused by damage to their image. Whatever people may think of this case, this man was doing his job yet he has been systematically scapegoated by people who were uncooperative from the outset and less than honest about their child's disappearance. Clearly the law is easily manipulated by those with friends in high places. What kind of justice system is that?

There have been instances in the past where money is donated for a cause very quickly. Remember the haste in which Kate McCann had sandcastle buckets with a handwritten note appealing for cash dotted around Luz. The twins would not have needed them at the beach - they were dumped in the creche... again. Anyway, it is perfectly usual practice to setup a limited company to process donations and provide an immediate structure. In the meantime, charitable status is normally applied for and this can take up to a year. Once granted, then various transfers take place until the limited company is no longer active and is wound down. Yet here we are some 8 years later, the McCann fund is still a limited company and has no sign of ever becoming a charity. The rules of the McCann fund state in plain English that as well as the alleged primary search purpose of the fund, the directors (K & G McCann, family members...) can do pretty much what they want with the proceeds. And haven't they just - a lot of lawyers, PR people, image consultants, all sorts of charlatans and liars must drink a toast to all those grannies, schoolkids, bake-off sales, etc that sent in their pennies to Find Madeleine for it to be sent to a lawyer's bank account. If you are in Lisbon sueing Dr Amaral, a stay at the 5* Dom Pedro does not come cheap. As well as the obvious charges which may or may not be laid at the feet of the McCanns and their accomplices, the Fraud Squad should also be taking a serious interest in the operation of Find Madeleine. And while they are there, the cozy arrangement between Find Madeleine and Missing People needs to come under the spotlight too. A nice little earner...

After reading the official police files I agree with the Portugese police and the majority of social media and find it difficult to believe the McCanns were not involved in Madeleine's disappearance. They have sued people for saying the same by using high profile legal teams paid for from the money donated by the public from a fund they set up to help find Madeleine. The MSM accuse the public of being 'trolls' when they do not believe the McCann abduction theory, given there is no evidence to support this theory it is not surprising it is not believed, especially when the evidence from the PJ files suggests otherwise. During the many interviews the McCanns have shown a lack of shame and remorse for neglecting their children whilst on holiday. Having spent such little time with their children during the day they then left them alone at night whilst they went out drinking and dining with like minded friends. How could a group of parents (never mind professionals) not foresee or care about the risks involved in this disgraceful practice of leaving small children alone is beyond me. Gonçalo Amaral was just doing his job and expressing his professional opinion and for this the McCanns et al have tried to destroy him, it's not right and it's not fair and I wish him every success in the future he deserves this.

After having this case highlighted to me by the newspapers I took the time to have a look into the case rather than just swallow the money grabbing headlines. I now feel compelled to speak out regarding my utter disgust and amazement that this clear sham is being allowed for whatever reason to continue.Clearly any sane minded person can see that there is no evidence at all that Madeleine McCann was abducted from the apartment and clearly the parents and associates know far more about what did happen to her but choose to remain silent preferring instead to use their own daughter as a source of income. The parents had every opportunity to assist the police in the first days of the child being reported missing but again chose self preservation over any concern for the child by refusing to co operate during police questioning and choosing tennis courts and jogging over physically searching for their supposedly missing daughter. An entirely unbelievable set of cobbled together statements put forward by the parents and their associates followed by ever evolving descriptions of abductors has led me to draw the conclusion that in my opinion the parents are carrying out a money making exercise. Mr McCann assures us that the Cadaver dogs that alerted to possessions of the parents and the parents only are known to be incredibly unreliable. A very strange comment from a father who has lost a child to what he himself described as Paedophile abductors, now I believe a reasonable parent would have gone into hysteria at the realisation that the child was more than likely dead. But no not Mr McCann as excepting that would have meant an end to the searching fund and an end to future income into the fund ( Ltd Company) I would urge anyone to contribute any amount they can afford to give this police officer the chance to fight back against this truly spurious pair of individuals. Three tiny children were left alone and unprotected at night-time, and mysteriously one of them vanished without trace. A police officer devoted his time and energy endeavouring to make sense of all the shifting and confusing details presented by the case. He did his duty - which was to find the logical explanation for the child’s disappearance, a disappearance that had occurred in the most perplexing circumstances. The police officer has ended up being persecuted, and is now bereft of his property, and in severe financial hardship. Whereas the people who apparently left the tiny children alone and unprotected at night-time, seem not only to have successfully carved out a saint-like celebrity status for themselves, but would appear to have picked up considerable monetary gains along the way. It is a funny old world.
