Mathew Oldfield said April 28th 'We dined at the Millennium because
THE TAPAS was CLOSED.
All the other days they ALWAYS ate at the Tapas. From Sunday, April
29th to Thursday, May 3rd. That makes 5 days, 5 dinners,
at Tapas.
Lunch said Mathew, would be eaten in a group, this included the
children, Payne’s apartment commonly used, due to its
larger size. Mathew also explained the first booking
made for dinner at the Tapas, which was for Sunday
night, was made by O'Brian, but he is not sure.
Matt clarifies, Monday morning his wife Rachael, undertook such
reservations, adding still that it would have been for
all the remaining days except for Friday 4th May, as a
Tennis Club dinner for that night had been planned.
Jane Tanner also confirms the booking was permanent for
20h30...until the end of the stay.
And yet here we have Dr.Gerald Mccann in this interview 'Why did
you not come when we were crying' saying 'WE DID NOT
even know if we could get into the Tapas on May 3rd.
The holiday was going well; a group of doctors had planned an
active vacation and enjoyed watersports, tennis, jogging
etc. However, by evening it seems that ALWAYS someone
from the group had a bout of sickness. Fiona in her
statement, said someone, EVERY night was sick.
Gerry McCann said that Sunday lunch was spent in the PAYNE
apartment. The whole group were there, except for
MATHEW, who was ill.
MATT also did not attend dinner on Sunday, Rachael however, was
present.
Dianne Webster said there was no need for the Paynes to check on
their children as they had a BABY MONITOR.
However Dr. Gerald McCann says that he THINKS that on Wed. May 2nd
Dr. David Payne checked on the McCann children. It is
odd that this generosity was only extended to the McCann
children as we have already been told the PAYNES did not
need to check their own.
Yes, it could be justified that out of all the kindness of his
heart, Dr. Payne was checking upon those less fortunate
to have technology available to them. But what about
Tanner’s children? Were they children of a lesser god?
Monday and Tuesday evening seemed to have caused some confusion.
Dr. McCann does not remember which of these days
Madeleine had slept for sometime in his room, with Kate,
who had told him one or both of the twins were crying.
Russel and Tanner also suffer from a bout of amnesia about these
dates. Russell said in his statement “I remember the
night well as it is the ONLY night we were together”.
But then Russel does admit defeat because he and Jane
are unsure if this was Monday or Tuesday evening they
were all together. But it seems clear that irrelevant
which night it was, ONLY one night they were together.
At the place pre-booked for all for the whole week.
Except Friday. Lest we forget. Apparently they did.
After a time of not remembering the night HE HAD remembered so
well, the Officer said well shall we just put Monday or
Tuesday?...Russel agreed this (to put the two) WOULD be
best.
Miss Najoua Chekaya, Quizz Mistress, also seemed to have a memory
problem about Tuesday, May 1st.
Remember this was the night Mrs Fenn heard a child screaming for
more than one hour 'Daddy,Daddy'...
The lovely BUXOM Najoua says she worked in the Tapas two nights a
week (Sunday and Tuesday). Although Najoua has a better
memory than the doctors , it was not until pressed that
she admitted it was Dr.Mccann who invited her to sit
with the table of NINE guests. Yes, NINE, not eight, not
ten but NINE. Reveals quite an attentive mind to detail
for an invitee that approaches a group of people that
she doesn’t know from anywhere else before.
Miss Chekaya sat with the group for about TWENTY minutes enjoying a
drink. However, she does not know whether Madeleines
mother Kate was there.
Unless there were other unknown characters present, clearly then
maybe NOT a table with nine present.
Najoua said she sat at the table about 9.30... No one left the
table while she was there including Madeleine’s father.
She did notice an empty chair of someone who had had
dinner and left. This is an assumption on Najova’s part,
nothing more, for she could not know this as fact.
Kate’s witness statement is clear for the night Tues May 1st...She
and Gerry checked the children twice each: 9.00 pm...
9.30 pm... 10.00 pm.. and 10.30 pm...
Najoua was shown photographs of the group and Miss Chekaya is
unsure if David Payne was present or not...leading once
again to justified doubts of a table of NINE.
Wednesday May 2nd, Rachael Oldfield was feeling unwell and stayed
in her apartment all night. Her husband Matt was at the
restaurant. Wednesday 2nd May...amnesia seems to have
cleared as they all remember staying late for a drink at
the bar. They did not return to their apartments until
close to midnight.
I can only put this strange behaviour of the night Tues May 1st
down to Miss NAJOUA CHEKAYA and her wonderful assets...
for whatever else could cause such a break down in
memory that they do not recall, especially the men, this
stunning young lady sitting at their table?
This stunning young lady who, in turn, remembers so well being
invited by GERRY MCCANN to a table of NINE GUESTS?
Unquestionable memory on her part, or questionable amnesia from
everyone else?
And if it’s this AMNESIA, then what, WHERE and who else wasn’t
remembered? And WHY? |
