He is

unswervingly
traditional

over its
hostility to
euthanasia,

abortion. It
was reported
that, 'The
Cardinal is

Fr. Pacheco
met the
McCanns the
day after
Madeleine
vanished
from their
holiday
apartment on
May 3. The
couple
subsequently
attended
daily Mass
at his
church. Fr.
Pacheco even
gave them
the keys to
the tiny
chapel so
they could
pray round
the clock.
But when the
finger of
suspicion
was pointed
at the
McCanns and
they left
for Britain
last week,
they did not
say goodbye
and handed
the church
keys to an
Anglican
priest.
Detectives
are expected
to put
pressure on
Fr. Jose
Pacheco to
break his
vow of
silence,
which is
paramount to
the
sacrament of
confession.
Father Jose
Pacheco has

to put

him to break

St Mary and St John Church of England , Rothley |
Kate and Gerry McCann leave St Mary and St John Parish Church in the village of Rothley, Leicestershire, following a church service on the day of the first anniversary since the disappearance of their daughter Madeleine, on May 2, 2008. Church services were to be held in Britain Saturday to mark the year since British toddler Madeleine McCann went missing from a holiday flat in Portugal as her parents dined at a local restaurant. Gerry and Kate McCann are expected to spend the day quietly with their two other children at their home in Rothley in central England, and may attend a church service in the town, reports said. Madeleine's parents remain official suspects in the Portuguese police investigation.[One year on] |
