They were told by
Judge Maria Rodrigues that she would reserve judgment until a week
today on whether to extend the temporary injunction the couple were
granted in September.
The McCanns, both
41, of Rothley, Leicestershire, travelled to Lisbon to stop Goncalo
Amaral repeating claims their missing daughter, Madeleine, is dead.
Mr Amaral was the
first head of the investigation into the three-year-old’s
disappearance from Praia da Luz in Portugal in May 2007.
In July 2008, he
published Maddie: The Truth Of The Lie, which alleges she died in
her family’s holiday flat and that her parents faked her abduction.
Mr Amaral’s
lawyers argue the material in the banned book is contained in
official police files, made public in August 2008.
