The uncle of Madeleine
McCann says her family is "very disappointed" that she has not been
found.
But John McCann denied suggestions that the little girl's parents
were frustrated with the investigation, exactly three weeks after
she vanished.
Meanwhile, Kate and Gerry McCann have released the last known
photograph of Madeleine, sitting by a swimming pool.
They have also met British Ambassador to Portugal John Buck, British
police and consular officials.
The photograph of Madeleine was taken by her mother at the holiday
complex where she disappeared in Praia da Luz, Algarve, on 3 May.
It shows the four-year-old smiling and dangling her feet in the pool
alongside her father and younger brother Sean.
Back in the UK,
thousands of green and yellow wristbands symbolising Madeleine's
plight have gone on sale in her home
county
of Leicestershire.
All proceeds will go towards the fighting fund set up by her family
which has so far raised ?294,758.
British police have received more than 500 photographs from people
who were in the resort at the time of Madeleine's disappearance.
The Child Exploitation and Online Protection Agency (CEOP) appealed
on Monday for any images which included strangers, with a view to
cross-referencing them against a database of pictures of UK paedophiles and other criminals.
'Absolutely determined'
It had been reported that a source claimed Madeleine's parents were
happy with the "overall thrust" of the police investigation, but
"frustrated" that certain questions and concerns were not being
addressed quickly enough.
Portuguese law means police cannot release details of an ongoing
investigation, even to the family involved.
But John McCann said the family remained "absolutely determined to
explore all ways of getting Madeleine back".
"Obviously with Madeleine still not back we are very disappointed. I
wouldn't go so far as to say frustrated, but we are disappointed,"
he said.
"We hope the authorities are going to explore more avenues and focus
the resources very much on sightings and other information."
There have been numerous reported sightings of girls matching
Madeleine's description over the past three weeks, including one in Morocco.
The McCanns are now said to be preparing to travel around
Europe
in an effort to raise the profile of her case.
'Struck a chord'
Meanwhile, the Catholic bishop of the Algarve, Manuel Neto Quintas has
offered to become a go-between with any kidnapper.
And children from Burnholme Community College in York
have attached "Find Madeleine" posters to their bags as they set off
for France
on a school trip.
Their head teacher, Tony Gavin, said: "This story has really struck
a chord with our pupils, a lot of whom have younger brothers and
sisters."
Madeleine, from Rothley, Leicestershire, disappeared from her bed as
her parents ate at a nearby restaurant.
