JUSTINE MCGUINESS |
JUSTINE McGUINNESS (37) (Campaign Manager)
A FORMER parliamentary candidate from Dorset played a major
role in the hunt for little Madeleine McCann. Justine
McGuinness, who grew up in Bradford Peverell and now lives
in Herrison near Dorchester, was manager of the Find
Madeleine campaign. The former Lib Dem candidate for West
Dorset finished second behind Conservative MP Oliver Letwin
in the 2005 general election. She was chosen for the
position by Madeleine's parents Kate and Gerry because of
her background in politics and lobbying. Miss McGuinness,
who has her own PR company, has worked in strategic
communications for 11 years. She left the campaign under
poor terms when she submitted an excessive over-time and
expenses bill making her a total income of £51,000 for 89
days work. |

Within two days after Madeleine’s disappearance, the holiday
firm Mark Warner had sent a crisis management team to
Portugal. It included Alex Woolfall from Bell Pottinger, the
public relations company. Alex Woolfall is Head of Issues
and Crisis Management for the Bell Pottinger Group. Woolfall,
who has 20 years experience in PR, spent the next two weeks
advising the family on how to keep the media interested.

SHERRIE DODD |
SHEREE DODD (PR Spokesperson)
First to arrive in Portugal was a former Mirror journalist
and long-term government spokesperson called Sheree Dodd. In
an unprecedented move, the Government took over
news-handling on behalf of the McCanns. Sheree Dodd, a
former Daily Mirror journalist and long-serving senior
spokeswoman for the Government, was dispatched to Portugal.
The Foreign and Commonwealth Office announced that she was
being deployed as “press officer responsible to act as media
liaison officer for the McCann family”. Sheree Dodd was
formerly Director of Communications at the Department for
Trade and Industry where she had responsibility for media
handling, stakeholder relations, marketing and
e-communications. Prior to that post she led the news and
media relations operations at the Department for Work and
Pensions and the Northern Ireland Office. Before joining
government communications she enjoyed an extensive career as
a political and industrial correspondent on The Mirror
newspaper. Sheree is Managing Director of SC Dodd Comms Ltd,
which provides advice and delivers communication solutions
to a wide range of public and private sector clients. But
Dodd was swiftly replaced by the more senior and bombastic
figure of Clarence Mitchell, who took a pro-active role,
orchestrating a visit to meet the Pope and a tour which took
in Spain, Germany and Morocco. |

JOHN HILL |
JOHN HILL (Manager of the Mark Warner Ocean Club)
the manager at the Mark Warner resort, John Hill,
said there was no definite physical evidence that
the girl had been abducted. "It's still questionable
as to whether it's an abduction," he said. "We are
hoping that Madeline is found as soon as possible
and safe and well." Mr Hill said the police had been
doing all they could. He said around 60 staff and
guests at the complex had searched until 4.30am
while police notified border police, Spanish police
and airports. "There is a criminal investigator here
in charge of the situation and around 20 officers
but unfortunately there is still no information,"

PHIL HALL (Media Adviser)
The former News of the World editor, now a media consultant,
