Kidnapping:
The black series [of events] continues with Omar Riahi
topnet.tn
Monday, 03 January 2011 11:51 Translation by Nigel Moore
Tunisia is in turmoil following a series of kidnappings of children
that have occurred in recent months.
It began with little Sarah, a baby of just two months, who was removed
from the hands of her cousin. Subsequently, there was little Montassar, 5, who was snatched from his mother when he went to
school.
The common point between these two abductions is that the children were found unharmed by the police and
have rejoined their families.
This was not the case, unfortunately, for little Rabii de Menzel Bourguiba,
aged 11, missing since 28 December 2010 and who was found dead. The least we can say is that the whole region is in shock.
Things do not stop there since the disappearance of another boy has just been announced by certain media and the social
networking site Facebook: This is little Omar Riahi, aged 6 years and from the region of Naassan.
These stories
are becoming too serious and grave and parents who believed that the abductions were isolated cases have become very concerned
about the safety and security of their offspring.
There are two possibilities: Either the phenomenon has always
existed and now, by dint of being publicized, the public becomes more sensitive, or it is something new in Tunisia ...
In either case, this crime must be denounced and severely punished before it becomes commonplace as in Western societies,
which we strive to emulate even in horror.
If there is one thing that makes everyone agree, it is that nobody has
the right to hurt a child ...

The Good, the Bad and
the Ugly madeleine-writingthewrongs.com

Using
the word good in relation to the disappearance of a missing child does in some ways seem cruel, unfeeling and totally out
of context. However, the disappearance of Madeleine Beth McCann has in its own sad way been a force for good, in that it has
raised the awareness of missing children in general and also that of exploited and abused children because of the issues it
has raised.
The good part here being that people are now taking more of an interest in this problem and there has
been a large surge in the internet sites set up for this purpose. The communication between these sites has improved ten fold
and there is so much more support available for parents finding themselves in this desperate situation. Many good people who
have been caught up with Madeleine's case have acquired skills that allow them to utilise social media sites etc. and
spread the word about the problem we have, and it is a widespread problem.
Good too are the people who have found
it in their heart to support a family caught up in a nightmare situation. Many claim it was a situation created by themselves,
but when is it alright for any abductor to steal a child in any situation? Certainly there were serious errors of judgement
made for which Madeleine and her family are now paying, but as has been proved there was never any intent of harm when that
situation arose.
Good people have been able to see past this mistake and support the family in their search for
their beloved daughter. Support comes in many forms may it be money, prayers, awareness raising, putting up posters etc and
for that they are truly grateful.
With the good inevitably comes the bad, and there has certainly been plenty of
the bad. Bad reporting, bad leaks, bad decisions made regarding the investigation, bad people coming together to hurt, punish,
defame, persecute, picking at anything that will further their agenda; whatever that may be.
It is not only the
family who have been affected by this badness but the people who have been trying to help them find their daughter. These
good people have been subjected to a barrage of abuse unheard of before the dawn of the internet. I have never in my lifetime
seen so much abuse directed towards one family with the exception perhaps being the Moors Murderers or Rose West etc. Why
is this? What is it about them that bring out the badness in these people? Is it because they were a happy family, successful
with a nice home, no money worries that we know of, good careers and of smart appearance that many thought attractive? And
most of all beautiful, happy children, which is evident from all the lovely photographs released by family and friends.
Now I suppose this is where the ugly comes in, ugly in the type of characters who have jumped on the bandwagon to
abuse this family and their friends and you would be surprised who these ugly people are. They could well be the old lady
next door to you, or the pleasant man who speaks to you as you cross paths everyday on your way to work. It might be the lovely
charitable "lady" who writes the Sunday bulletin for her local church, or the female lecturer from your local college.
Ugly, faceless people, who deface posters, lie, threaten, bully, create satirical images that they think "funny"
and abuse consistently in the name of jealousy, bigotry, xenophobia, and any other ugly trait imaginable.
This
family have had enough It's time for it to stop. NOW!

Maddie 'seen with
suspect' in Dubai
The Sun
EXCLUSIVE
By TOM WELLS and
DAN SALES Published: Today (20 January 2011)
COPS are probing claims missing Madeleine McCann
has been seen - in Dubai.
A girl looking like Maddie was spotted with a man "identical"
to an artist's impression of a suspect seen close to where she vanished in Portugal in May 2007.
An unnamed 35-year-old businessman told police he saw the girl with the man and two women outside a shopping
mall in Dubai in November last year.
He said: "The guy looked very like the suspect because he had a scary
face, a moustache, and was very skinny.
"The woman with him was also very thin. Behind them I saw a little
girl, about seven or eight years old, with a black woman in a veil.
"The girl looked so similar to the younger
Madeleine. She had light brown hair. But it was her nose and eyes that made me think it was the missing girl."
Interpol and private investigators hired by Maddie's parents Kate and Gerry are probing the sighting. Maddie was three
when she vanished on a family holiday in Praia da Luz.

Daughter snatched from hospital reunited with mom 23 years later
CNN
By the CNN Wire Staff January
20, 2011 -- Updated 2235 GMT (0635 HKT) (CNN) -- In 1987, an anguished, trembling
Joy White pleaded for someone to help her find her infant daughter.
"I hope she's all right," the
heartbroken mother told reporters at the time before collapsing in tears.
Now, 23 years later, White is crying
tears of joy as the decades-long mystery of her missing daughter reached a happy ending.
The saga started on August
4, 1987, when White took her sick baby, Carlina, to a Harlem hospital because of an extremely high fever, a New York police
official said.
Carlina was admitted in the hospital and White went home to rest. When the mother returned, Carlina
was gone.
Years passed as White searched for her daughter, all the time holding onto a photograph of a baby girl
she had only held for three weeks.
On January 4, White's phone rang.
The woman on the other end of the line said she was Carlina, and
she sent White a picture taken in 1987.
The face in the photograph bore a striking resemblance to that of the baby
in the tattered picture White had held on to.
Police, too, agreed that the photographs looked alike and carried
out a DNA test.
On Tuesday, the results came back -- and they were a match.
"Carlina was a missing
link," Pat Conway, Carlina White's aunt, told CNN affiliate WABC as she raised her hands in the air. "We have
gotten her back. In the name of Jesus, Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah."
For her part, Carlina Renae White,
had nursed a nagging feeling that she was raised by a family to which she did not belong, said Ernie Allen from the National
Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
Raised under a different name, Carlina grew suspicious when the woman
who raised her could not provide her with a birth certificate.
So she scoured the internet for answers, stumbling
on the website of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. There, she came across an item about a baby girl
who had been taken from a New York hospital.
She called the center, which in turn notified authorities.
Authorities are not saying much about the woman who raised Carlina White as they continue their investigation.
"I never gave up hope," Carlina White's grandmother, Elizabeth, told WABC. "It is like she has been around
us all her life. She wasn't a stranger. She fit right in."
CNN's Laura
Dolan, Rob Frehse, Lateef Mungin and Jason Kessler contributed to this report.

In one of his most recent snort of anger, which he manifests himself with some frequency in the Correio da Manhã,
Gonçalo Amaral puts forward what he thinks is a threat to the parents of Madeleine. Apparently he will seek a reopening
of the case based on a 'new track': Madeleine's blanket.
Why does he think that the parents will feel
assaulted by the eventual reopening of the case? Gonçalo Amaral knows (though he would never admit it) that the parents
are the only ones interested in determining what has actually happened. More: they are the only ones actually DOING something
in order to find Madeleine or to know what has happened on the night of May 3, 2007. So the reopening of the file it's
SO relevant. So decisive, they feel. However they know (and Gonçalo Amaral also knows it) that if they don't have
any new data they will not be succeed. AND – on the contrary to what Gonçalo Amaral says they do not manipulate
public opinion –, they know they need MORE. Something else …
So, if Gonçalo Amaral has 'new
information' as he says, why doesn't he comply with his word and ask for the reopening? He can. If he wants to…
But what Gonçalo Amaral know is that he has nothing. The sad thing is that he can't give up keep his 'public
profile'. In seeking to grow their 15 minutes of fame. And to gain something with that. That's the truth of his lies…

A Moral
Obligation madeleine-writingthewrongs.com
January
25 2011
For the past two weeks I've followed the Tucson shootings and been horrified by the signs that
Jared Loughner was going to crack. The deaths of six people, one being nine year-old Christina-Taylor Green, have affected
me in a profound way. I'm having a hard time coming to grips with the loss of life, but also the senseless act. I'm
also angry that nothing was done to take this madman off the streets. One friend, knowing how distraught I've
been, said to me in a lovely note, "It sometimes feels like life is a lottery". I thought about what she said to
me and felt great sadness–especially knowing the sadness and heartache she has endured. But could we have done more
to avert the shooting in the first place and not left it to chance–hoping this person wouldn't act on his deranged
comments online and elsewhere? There were so many signs that Jared Loughner was unhinged. He posted many ramblings and rantings
on YouTube, MySpace and gaming forums. He was kicked out of his university in September because he scared people in his classes.
The university said he could not come back until he had a mental evaluation. That mental evaluation never took place. I'm sure you are wondering what this has to do with Madeleine? Well, it actually has a lot to do with Madeleine in the
respect that I, as well as several others, have been stalked, threatened, lied about and intimidated because we dare support
Gerry and Kate McCann in the search for their daughter. There have been threats of violence against us online, we have had
phone calls threatening us and our children, we've been asked if we have wills. We've been called supporters of child
killers. The list goes on and on… And yet… the signs are there that some of these people are unhinged and mentally
unstable. We've contacted high-ups at YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. They do nothing with the requests to take
the threats of violence against us seriously. We are always told that the threats are not a violation of their terms of use.
I find that hard to believe. Instead, they hide behind "free speech rights" and allow the hate-filled, threatening
messages to continue. Several of us have also gone to the police and filed complaints of cyber-stalking, harassment
and threats of violence. The police wash their hands too and shrug it off. Free speech does not cover threats of violence
in any country. Free speech does not supersede my right to feel safe. What is it going to take for these companies
and society as a whole to realise these people are on the verge of doing violent acts? The signs are there. Anyone that posts
violent, threatening rhetoric surely has to have some sort of mental illness. We have a moral obligation
to take these threats of violence seriously. These people need to be looked at, evaluated and they need to be dealt
with before they hurt or kill innocent people—people that are just trying to help a family find their abducted child.

McCanns appeal to Portuguese people
The Algarve Resident
Updated: 28-Jan-2011 17:12:05
Kate
and Gerry McCann have made an appeal to the Portuguese people for them to support their petition calling for a review of the
case of their missing daughter Madeleine.
Since its launch in November 2010, more than 40,000 people have signed
the petition, which asks for the authorities in Portugal and the UK to conduct an independent and transparent review of all
the information regarding the disappearance of Madeleine McCann.
Gerry McCann said: "We need the authorities
to do more. Our goal is to reach 100,000 signatures that would represent 100,000 people who want a review of the facts
and suspects found at the time of the investigation.
"Reports and information received by the PJ during the
first phase of the investigation may not have been reviewed in the best way, which meant that the data from the investigation
was not reviewed correctly."
Kate McCann added: "We know we can only ask for the case to be reopened
if we have new facts but given that the official investigation has now stopped it will be almost impossible for us to find
these new facts that could lead to the reopening of the case.
"Therefore we appeal to the authorities, both
Portuguese and English, to reassess the entire process so that we can find our daughter."

(#) McCann – The Wilful and Intentional Lies and Abuse on Twitter madeleine-writingthewrongs.com
February 8, 2011
Joanna Yeates' family have recently had more than their fair share of pain. But that did not stop GaeMar01 on twitter
from falsely claiming Joanna Yeates' father said there is no evidence that Madeleine McCann was abducted. This person
was relying on the general public and followers to read the eye catching tweet and not have enough time to visit the link
posted. If one had visited the link one would discover the utter lie that was tweeted. The link takes one to an
article written by Steven Morris and published in the Guardian, dated 31 January 2011. The title: Joanna Yeates's
body released to family for funeral. David Yeates – "We really feel for those people
who have not been able to bury their children. The McCanns are one set of people like this but there are others as well. Whatever
we have experienced, they probably had it a lot worse. We keep reminding ourselves that we are not unique." Not
one mention of the word "evidence" or "abduction", that formed part of the lie that was so blatantly tweeted.
The person (GaeMar01) uses the word "respect" in their tweet. What respect has this person for grieving parents
of murdered Joanne Yeates and the families of missing children? None! " Twitter
is a social networking and microblogging service that allows you answer the question, "What are
you doing?" by sending short text messages 140 characters in length, called "tweets", to your
friends or "followers". The short format of the tweet is a defining characteristic of the service, allowing
informal collaboration and quick information sharing that provides relief from rising email and IM fatigue."- Twitter. This ability to tweet information within the allowed 140 characters has led to many bits of information being 'selectively
procured' from articles, to tweet. Information is wilfully taken out of context and posted on twitter, changing the intended
meaning of the original material. This malicious intentional selective tweeting is just another form of abuse. The screen
print of the Yeates-McCann tweet above is just one of many examples of how twitter is misused by others as a tool to smear
and spread misinformation about the McCann case. Although twitter is regulated…."We do not actively
monitor user's content and will not censor user content, except in limited circumstances"…, they do have the
power to permanently suspend anyone's account. Unfortunately the complaint procedure to get a person's account suspended
is not that easy and it doesn't stop this type of person from creating another account and continuing on the road to smear
and spread misinformation. There are many people who use Twitter, not for malicious purpose but for what it is
intended. To those who think they are allowed to spread lies and misinformation on the McCann case just remember that although
Twitter is not monitoring you , YOU ARE still responsible and will be held accountable for
your tweets.

What i find most sickening is that people in power sit back and do NOTHING. There
is no publicity, no message to anyone who may be involved with kidnappers or the kidnappers' families, they are so flippant,
and expect the man on the street to take matters like this into their own hands, which is fine to a point, but come on, what
are they thinking? Maybe the reason they "let it go" is because they are involved in or making money out of cases
like this.. who knows???!!!

Kathy, Jacci and Mary, we feel the same way. We shouldn't be having to do
this on our own. Madeleine is a British citizen and she deserves to have the best the government can offer in finding her.
Instead, she's treated as a number; a statistic. Our daughter is NOT a number and our government should be doing everything
they can to help find her. Please...if you haven't already, sign the petition. Put pressure on our government to have
the case re-opened and reviewed by an independent and impartial investigation team.

Piles of McVile...
The Potting Shedder
Friday, 8 April 2011
I'm lost for words with the latest shenanigans
over on the Official Find Madeleine group on Facebook.
On a link to a recommended blog, which painted children
as inconveniences and attempted to excuse neglect, one woman dared to disagree with the content!
Good for you Janet Canepa. I genuinely believe you speak for
the majority of us when we say that we would never leave our children on their own. Shame you were subject to the vilest rants
and abuse simply for putting forward your experienced thoughts, including this one which some have construed as a veiled threat...
What was most surprising was the response from the Official Find Madeleine Campaign group themselves...
Come on... is that really the way to speak to a supporter
of your group simply because she disagreed with the author of a blog and gave her own experience of parenting? Is it acceptable
to publicly compare her comments to the irritation of PILES?! It's rude and downright appalling. The
Official comment was later removed, along with Janet's - did someone within the group have similar thoughts or was the
post just another moment of madness when someone's guard was down.
Just because they now have the wrong kind
of piles really doesn't give them or their supporters the right to bully and descend on a person simply because she has
a different view on parenting. These manic, vocal 'supporters' come across as nothing but self righteous, narcissistic
morons and are unfortunately tarring all genuine people who quietly lend support and want Madeleine found. And I'm sure
they're out there somewhere, despite their silence.
Questions really have to be asked about this group where
propaganda spouted by McCann supporters is allowed to be posted without question, yet anything which does not toe the party
line is removed. I agree that certain posts have to be deleted, but certain people are not permitted to post and if they do,
their posts are removed. Like Janet's. It appears that you must agree that it is perfectly fine to go out and leave your
children to care for themselves while you eat elsewhere. And that everyone does it.
Misinformation and its misinformed
comments are allowed to be spread and shared by themselves, their followers and anyone else who has the misfortune to stumble
across this page. Such as individuals being jailed for torture. It is a free public group, not costing the McCanns a penny
to run, unless a waged muppet is in charge of vetting comments. It seems to have taken over from the Official Find Madeleine
website, which is a shame because so much effort went into running the site. Around £37,000 per annum worth. Save a
penny, save a pound. Hopefully the site costs will be greatly reduced on the yearly accounts?
In hindsight... really
- if only they'd eaten here. Maybe then it would have been like 'dining in your back garden'. Give me the chimps'
tea party any day.
'Yes, people can THINK what they like, but not post
these very hurtful thoughts for others to see...'
That says it all really. I wonder how many supporters
are afraid to post what they really think? And I have to ask just what hypocritical and smallminded planet Mrs Holmes is on.
Wherever, it obviously lacks any media source if her eyes have only just been opened and claims that this case has
any bearing on the world enlightenment of child abuse, slavery and paedophiles What a vile, hurtful insult to the many victims
of child abuse over the years.

Mums join hunt for Madeleine Southport Visiter
02 June 2007
TWO Southport mums are flying out to Morocco today to
help search for missing toddler Madeleine McCann. Eve Rimmer, 30, of Sawdon Avenue, Kew, and Maxine Welsh, 34,
of Vaughan Road, Birkdale, will walk the streets of Marrakech distributing leaflets hoping someone will recognise the face
printed on their specially made T-shirts. Mum-of-two Eve decided to join the search after her four-year-old daughter
Eleanor asked why she was not looking for Madeleine. Eve told the Southport Visiter: "My daughter who goes
to Our Lady of Lourdes RC Primary in Birkdale had been praying and doing different things for Madeleine in school. "She came home one day and asked who was looking for Madeleine and why wasn't I helping. "She wanted
to know if she went missing whether I would look for her. "Of course I would and I'd want people to do
it with me so that's why I'm going out there to help Gerry and Kate McCann." Edge Hill student Mrs
Rimmer who is studying to be a human rights lecturer and her friend Maxine Welsh board their plane at 9am this morning . They will ask the pilot to make an announcement about what they are doing and to remind passengers to look for Madeleine. Handbag-sized leaflets will be distributed on board so people have the special search hotline number while they are
away. Mrs Rimmer said: "All day Friday and Saturday we will give out leaflets, put them on billboards and
up in restaurants. "We have 4,000 leaflets so we have to put our underwear and clothes in our handbags for
the journey because the leaflets fill our luggage allowance." The two women had to use their own money for
the trip because they were not registered with a charity but donations from individuals helped their cause.

Would you have your child chipped? Liverpool Echo
by K Matthews Fri Jun 15, 2007 9:02 am
A MOTHER-of-two from Birkdale
who started a shrine to Madeleine McCann at Lord Street's monument is joining the hunt for the missing youngster.
Julie Seddon, 35, was inspired by mums, Eve Rimmer and Maxine Welsh, who flew to Morocco to search for the kidnapped four-year-old.
Julie of Weld Road, Birkdale, also hopes to spark a debate on child abduction and emailed Sir Trevor McDonald saying
all youngsters MUST be microchipped.
She said it would work as a similar identification system to that used for
animals: "If a child was abducted the police could search a database and trace the child.
"It could be
removed whenever the parents felt appropriate."

I would like to encourage everyone to change their Facebook profile picture to one
of Madeleine on the 3rd May until her eighth birthday on the 12th May to show our support for her and her family. This will
gather a lot of support without a doubt! please pass it on to all your friends. We want it to spread out worldwide. This
seems to be working and hopefully by May3rd her face profile will be spread far and wide. Please, I ask everyone to support
this to show that we really do care about this innocent child and that we won't give up on her or her family.

I haven't been using this page for very long but
I am rather concerned that I have received several friends requests from what appear to be very young girls. While not wishing
to appear unfriendly, as I have photos of my children on my page, I only have close friends and family as friends. I am sure that the Official Find Madeleine Campaign will agree that it can be dangerous for young people to befriend strangers.
I know I would not be happy if I thought my children were doing the same. Please be careful girls. We all have a common interest
in Madeleine but please don't give your personal details to strangers. x

Isabelle is right in that you need to be safe online. Please do not accept friend requests from people you do not
know--even if they are on this page. We do know there are some younger supporters on here and we are grateful for your support,
but please make sure you stay safe. If you aren't sure if someone should be friended, don't do it or at least ask
your parents.

How low can you go... check your LIKES on Facebook
Notes from a Potting Shedder
Tuesday, 8 November 2011
As if things couldn't get any lower...
it's been highlighted that some Facebook users have mysteriously 'liked' the Official Find Madeleine Campaign
page - without their knowledge and most definitely against their will. Including yours truly - me, myself, moi!!! Have we
all been hacked? At the moment I can't comment on their wall for some reason... what a shame.
How has this
group made users LIKE their page without informing them?
We're always being warned not to like pages that
promise us free gifts, donations to the needy blah blah, because once they have enough members and personal information, they
sell the group on. Your personal information is very valuable in the right hands.
A month or so ago, the
Official page welcomed members from the Unofficial group which was somehow amalgamated and therefore bumped up the
numbers. The next day, a fair few people protested that they hadn't actually joined the group. Has it happened again...have
they harvested any of the other Madeleine groups on the site and swallowed up their members in the dead of the night without
their knowledge? It would explain the rapid swell of muppets at dawn most days. I wonder just how many of those 88,000 likes
really are genuine and there with their owner's permission. I know mine isn't.
I think that after the naming
and shaming of Jack Tims and his grovelling apology to the McCanns in the Sun, clarification is needed on just what happens
to groups such as the One Million Likes and their members. What happens to the groups that are dormant or ones which close
suddenly. I never clicked One Million Likes, but I have clicked other groups looking for justice for Madeleine. And forgotten
about it... something I'm sure you've all done. I think now might be the time to check.
Instead of allowing
the obnoxious Mrs G to hold the fort, I would suggest that perhaps a friendly email to all members from the not-so-efficient
Admin is in order, just to ensure that people are actually there of their own free will. Do they really give a damn though,
as long as the numbers look good? It always has been about appearance from day one.
Predictable abuse from the usual suspects... and it's still going
on!
Like me and many others, if you've suddenly discovered that you're a member of a group which you
did not 'like', scroll down the left hand side of the page and click UNLIKE... simples. Then report.

Check your LIKES on Facebook......... Part 2
Notes from a Potting Shedder
Thursday, 10 November 2011
Confirmed...
Beggars belief - Madeleine groups on Facebook combined into one group
with a new, deceptively fake following...
This is why we got up yesterday morning to find unfamiliar posts, comments
and updates on our Facebook walls. This is why we had become followers of a group we didn't join.
It's
all good and well providing a welcome, however if these new members referred to above had actually liked the Official Find
Madeleine Campaign group page, they would have clicked the LIKE button of their own free will.
Are there any similar
unofficial Find Madeleine Campaign group pages around which could genuinely be combined? I don't think there
are... although the poor child may have stood a greater chance of being found if there was. There are thousands of groups
for thousands of subjects... I don't want to go to bed posting on Justice for Caylee and wake up to Casey Anthony's
ugly mug. Would anybody?
Apart from the One Million Likes group, I've never seen Madeleine being subjected
to 'online abuse'. Another appalling and disturbing thought to come from the horse's mouth. If I did,
I wouldn't hesitate to report it. Seems like just another excuse for her parents protect their reputation and avoid criticism
by once again attempting to silence people. The irony of Madeleine needs protected... yes she did, didn't she?
Instead of fannying about online, why don't you just get out there and do what normal people would do - something
you've never done yourselves. Look. All those followers with their prayers, candles and fluffy words won't
'bring her home', but I'm sure it makes you feel good.
Please check which groups you have joined
or liked on Facebook. This is an appalling invasion of privacy and trust. I do not wish mingle with blinkered muppets or have
their posts invade my wall. And I also object to the Team having access to my own profile via their Admin privileges.
Very disturbing.
