Kate McCann: Hi, I'm Kate McCann and I obviously know how it feels to be in this
position - to be a parent of a missing child and the impact that that has on your life.
I've also spent a lot
of time with the charity Missing People and I'm aware of the incredible valuable services they offer and that is why I
was happy to do this Appeal and want to do this Appeal, because I know how much they can offer to other family's in our
position.
And I also know how much more they could offer if they had greater funding and support.
I'm more than happy to support this Appeal for Missing People and I really hope you can too.

Presenter:
Now, Kate McCann makes the Radio 4 Appeal on behalf of the charity Missing People.
Kate McCann:
Six years ago, my little girl Madeleine was taken.
She was stolen from us.
I cannot describe the impact
that awful night had on our family or put into words how it feels to miss your child.
It's a horrible, unceasing
pain and we live with it everyday.
When your child is missing you enter a whole new world of emotions, which nothing
can prepare you for.
The charity Missing People call it 'living in limbo' and, until Madeleine is found,
we're in this nightmarish limbo too.
Every two minutes, someone goes missing in the UK.
Most are
found within a day but around 20,000 people are missing for more than a week and, for their loved ones, Missing People's
family services offer support and guidance through an incredibly stressful and difficult time.
To keep the search
alive for so many missing children and adults the charity creates and coordinates search publicity, including posters, press
coverage and social media.
They also understand that we require specialist support, so they offer tailored counselling
services.
£30 pays for an hour of specialised counselling for a mother of a missing child. Giving her
time and space to work through some tough and terrifying feelings.
For those going through this agonising experience
it is important to know that this charity is there at any time, day or night, on their 24-hour helpline.
A gift
of £100 could pay for an extra member of staff to man a phone overnight, ensuring every desperate call is answered.
Missing People never gives up hope, never stops looking. They are there when it counts, supporting each family for
as long as it takes.
For families like mine, who use these services, they are a vital lifeline.
They
really are.
And by supporting them, you are truly a lifeline too.
You can give now via the Radio 4 website
or by calling 0800 404 8144. That's 0800 404 8144.
Or you can write a cheque to Missing People and send
it to: Freepost, BBC Radio 4 Appeal. That's Freepost, BBC Radio 4 Appeal - and mark the back of your envelope 'Missing
People'.
From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

The crusading mother told radio listeners her family had been
stuck in a "nightmarish limbo" since her daughter's disappearance in 2007.
Mrs McCann described the
ordeal she has endured with husband Gerry and their twins during a plea on behalf of the charity Missing People.
Fronting the appeal on Radio 4 yesterday, Mrs McCann said the group works tirelessly to help find those who vanish by co-ordinating
publicity campaigns. It also offers support and counselling for their families.
Her broadcast comes amid a flurry
of activity in the attempt to solve the mystery of Maddy's disappearance while on holiday in Portugal.
Last month Scotland Yard released new e-fits of a man suspected
of abducting her when she was three from the family's rented apartment at the Ocean Club in Praia da Luz.
It
is believed he has since died.
Mrs McCann said: "Six years ago my little girl Madeleine was stolen. I cannot
describe the impact that awful night had on our family. It's a horrible unceasing pain we live with every day.
"Missing People call it living in limbo and until Madeleine
is found, we are in this nightmarish limbo too.

The former GP said the abduction had plunged her family into
a "nightmarish limbo" they would never escape until she is found.
Kate was launching a BBC Radio 4 appeal
on behalf of charity Missing People, which helps families whose loved ones have vanished.
She said the organisation
had been a "vital lifeline" for her since then three-year-old Madeleine vanished from the family's Portuguese
holiday apartment on May 3, 2007. Kate told listeners: "I cannot describe the impact that awful night had on our family
or put into words how it feels to miss your child.
"When your child is missing you enter a new world of emotions
which nothing can prepare you for.
"The charity Missing People call it living in limbo.
"And until Madeleine is found we're in this nightmarish limbo too."
She added: "For
families like mine who use these services they are a vital lifeline.
"And by supporting them you're a
lifeline too."
Kate, 45, revealed her agony as the family of new suspect Euclides
Monteiro announced they would help the police investigation.
Portuguese detectives are trying to discover whether
he snatched the youngster in an act of revenge after being sacked from a restaurant at the resort where the McCanns were staying.
Monteiro, who died four years ago aged 40 in a works accident involving a tractor, was fired for taking five euros
from the till a year before Madeleine disappeared.
Mobile phone transmitter analysis is said to place him near
the McCanns' apartment on the evening she vanished.
His widow, who was asked "question after question"
about his then-whereabouts by a Portuguese detective, insists he was innocent and plans to sue the police.

A CHARITY billboard campaign launched in The Sun by Kate McCann has helped find 100 missing
youngsters.
The appeal on digital hoardings was the UK's largest and seen by more than ten million people.
Kate, mum of missing Madeleine, launched the campaign in July last year, begging Sun readers to spare a few minutes
to look at the ads.
The response was phenomenal and Kate, 45, is "absolutely delighted" at its success.
The ambassador for Missing People will announce the amazing results tomorrow at a gala dinner in London for the charity.
More than £1million of billboard space - at rail and bus stations, sports venues, shopping centres and on high
streets - was donated by trade body the Outdoor Media Centre. Kate said: "They give real hope."

The
45-year-old gave an emotional insight into the horrific traumas of being the parent of a lost child - saying the unbearable
pain made her want to "disappear herself"
Kate McCann has told how the renewed hunt for missing daughter
Madeleine has given her renewed hope, but also left her exhausted.
And the 45-year-old gave an emotional insight
into the horrific traumas of being the parent of a lost child.
Kate said the pain was so unbearable, "all
you really want to do is disappear yourself".
The former GP told how she has endured a "tricky couple
of months" and apologised for being "a bit sleep-deprived" when she spoke at a Missing People charity fundraising
gala.
Kate said: "What many people don't know is the impact
that a child going missing has on you, your family and all those who know your child. You need to know that all that can
be done is being done and you need to know that the world hasn't given up."
Police have reopened their
inquiry into Madeleine's disappearance from her holiday apartment at Praia da Luz in May 2007, shortly before her
fourth birthday.
A Crimewatch appeal last month resulted in an overwhelming response.
At the gala
in London Kate, who is an ambassador for Missing People – a group led by Jo Youle – said: "The highs are
when you think there is news. And the lows... the dread of knowing what happened and the dread of not knowing what happened."
But despite her and husband Gerry's anguish, Kate spoke of her delight that a billboard campaign she launched
has helped find 100 missing people.
She said: "It's a truly amazing achievement."
Kate
told how every five minutes a child goes missing in the UK.
She added: "Thankfully the majority are found
within 24 hours but a significant number are not. And so for these parents the pain continues, the agonising days and nights
without news."

The anguished mother spoke of "the dread of knowing what happened
and the dread of not knowing what happened" as she addressed a Missing People fundraising dinner.
On
a positive note Kate, in her role as ambassador for the charity, revealed how a poster campaign she launched has helped find
100 missing children and adults.
The appeal on digital hoardings at rail and bus stations, sports venues and shopping
centres across Britain, was started in July last year. The former GP, 45, of Rothley, Leics, told an audience on Wednesday
at London's Victoria and Albert Museum: "I am delighted to say that last week the 100th missing person featured
on the digital billboards was found, a truly amazing achievement."
Kate described her own family's heartache
since Madeleine vanished in Praia da Luz, Portugal, in May 2007, just days before her fourth birthday.
She told
how the ordeal continued for her, husband Gerry and eight-year-old twins Sean and Amelie.
Kate said: "You
need to know that all that can be done is being done – and you need to know that the world hasn't given up."
Last month the search was boosted after Portuguese police relaunched their investigation into the little girl's
disappearance.
At the same time, a Scotland Yard team unveiled two e-fits of a new prime suspect.
Police received nearly 3,000 calls and emails after the images were shown in a Crimewatch special broadcast across Europe.

FEARS grew for Kate McCann's health last night after she looked gaunt and tired at a charity event.

The 45-year-old admitted she's been left exhausted by the
six-year search for missing daughter Madeleine.
Looking painfully thin, she told a fundraiser for Missing People
she had been through a "tricky couple of months".
Former GP Kate said there are times she wants to vanish
herself and added: "The pain continues, the agonising days and nights without news".
Friends fear her
and husband Gerry's libel case against former Portuguese police chief Gonzalo Amaral is hitting her health.
A close source said: "She's looking fragile again."
The McCanns, of Rothley, Leics, are suing Amaral, 56, over his false claims Maddie died and they covered up her death
when the three-year-old vanished from their holiday apartment in Praia da Luz.

Kate McCann prepares for seventh Christmas without missing daughter Madeleine McCann by praying for her return
Kate McCann has told how she is praying for daughter Madeleine's
safe return this Christmas, during a moving tribute to families of lost loved ones.
She revealed her hope while
giving strength to parents facing the same void in their lives – as she prepares for a seventh Christmas without the
eldest of her three children.
Kate, 45, spoke at a private carol service, hosted by Missing People, in London last
week. The former GP, who is an ambassador for the charity, read lyrics from Billie Holiday's I'll Be Seeing You, including
the line: "I'll be seeing you, in all the old familiar places."
A spokeswoman for the charity said:
"Kate gave a very moving address as she united with dozens of families who are in the same, terribly sad situation. They
came together in solidarity."
Kate, of Rothley, Leics, was joined at St Martin-in-the-Fields in Trafalgar
Square by the charity's patron, ex-newsreader Sir Trevor McDonald, and speakers from the National Crime Agency.
This year seems to have passed particularly quickly - a sign undoubtedly of
a very busy year. It would still be a comfort if we could slow time just a little. Thankfully however there have been some
very positive aspects with regards to Madeleine. The Metropolitan police review becoming an investigation and more recently,
the reopening of the case in Portugal. We are incredibly relieved and buoyed by these developments and continue to hope for
further collaboration in the near future with the possibility of a JIT (joint investigation team) between Portugal and the
UK to enhance the search for our dear daughter.
Once again we would like to thank all our supporters for their
commitment to Madeleine and their ongoing support of our efforts. Please spare a thought and prayer for all families similar
to ours who will be unable to share this Christmas with a special loved one.
We wish you a wonderful Christmas
and a happy and peaceful 2014.

Everton Call On Missing Fans To Return Home Everton FC

Blues
to show their support to the charity this Saturday.
Everton is backing an appeal for missing fans to make a safe return
to their families in 2014.
The Club is supporting Missing People, an independent charity which offers a lifeline
when a loved one disappears, during its FA Cup third round tie against Queens Park Rangers on 4 January.
At half-time,
Everton will show the charity's appeal film to the Goodison Park faithful in addition to using its social media channels
to communicate appeals for missing people in the area in the run up to the Cup tie, with fans being encouraged to support
the appeal by using #EFCsearching.
The Blues have thrown their support behind the campaign to help find missing
people like Madeleine McCann, who went missing in 2007. Madeleine's mother Kate McCann, who is an Ambassador for the charity
Missing People and also an Evertonian, is attending the match to help raise awareness of the search for missing people in
the area.
Speaking in Everton's matchday programme this weekend, Chairman Bill Kenwright, had this message
in support of the campaign: "There are thousands of people who are reported missing across the country every year and
it's truly heartbreaking to read, and hear, the distressing stories that are affecting the lives of those close to them.
"We have a strong tradition at Everton of working with, and supporting, our Community and because of that we
wanted to use today's game to help raise awareness of those who, for whatever reason, are currently missing."
He added: "The thoughts of myself and everyone at Everton Football Club are with those currently affected. We
wish you all the very best and hope 2014 is the year when you are reunited."
A 2013 report showed 14,672 missing
persons incidents were reported to Merseyside Police over 12 months, and the charity is keen to raise awareness of the 250,000
people who go missing in the UK each year, 140,000 of whom are children.
Jo Youle, Missing People Chief Executive
said: "We're extremely fortunate to have this sort of support from a club like Everton and hope to harness the power
of Goodison fans to help us search for missing people.
"We urge anyone in the area to take to Twitter and
Facebook, follow @missingpeople and use the hashtag #EFCsearching to help us reunite missing people with their loved ones."

They are living through unimaginable pain as they continue to search
for their missing daughter.
But Kate and Gerry McCann still managed to enjoy an afternoon out today to watch
their beloved Everton in the FA Cup.
The couple were spotted enjoying themselves at Goodison Park in Liverpool
as their team took on Queens Park Rangers.
In one picture, Kate and Gerry share a laugh together, with Kate looking
on lovingly at her husband.
The couple, who were sat next to Everton chairman Bill Kenwright, also shook hands
with Harry Redknapp, the manager of QPR.
The couple's daughter Madeleine was three when she went missing in
the Algarve in 2007. One of the most famous images of the youngster shows her wearing an Everton football shirt.
The couple were at the game to support Missing People, an independent charity which offers support to relatives when a
loved one disappears.
Everton are backing an appeal for missing fans to make a safe return to their families in
2014. Kate McCann is an ambassador for the charity.
It emerged today that detectives from Scotland Yard have identified
three key suspects for the toddler's abduction.
Cops believe a gang of burglars was working close to where
Madeleine went missing.
As reported by the Daily Mail, mobile phone data shows that the men made a high number
of calls to each other after the three-year-old went missing.
One line of enquiry is that the burglars panicked
after waking the youngster and decided to kidnap her.
Kate and Gerry were yesterday blocked from giving evidence
at the libel trial of an ex-detective who accused them of covering up their daughter's death.
The couple wanted
to take the stand to explain how false claims in Goncalo Amaral's book about Madeleine's disappearance
had left them devastated.
But in Lisbon, judge Maria de Melo e Castro ruled that neither the McCanns nor Amarel
can give evidence.
The McCanns' lawyer Isabel Duarte said: "Obviously Gerry and Kate were disappointed."
The couple, both 45-year-old doctors from Rothley, Leics, are suing Amaral, 56, for £1million over his book
The Truth of the Lie and a related TV documentary.
